2025 Nan Yeomans Grant for Artistic Development Opens tomorrow!

The Kingston Arts Council (KAC) and Community Foundation for Kingston & Area are pleased to share that applications for the 2025 Nan Yeomans Grant for Artistic Development will open tomorrow.

The Nan Yeomans Grant for Artistic Development supports promising young artists and artisans working in visual media to further their artistic growth and education. Totalling $4,000 in value and awarded annually to one individual between the ages of 17 and 40, the grant is intended for training or focused creation to support the career development of a young emerging artist. This grant is made possible through an endowment fund administered by the Community Foundation for Kingston & Area, with the selection process administered by the Kingston Arts Council.

The deadline to apply is 17 November 2025, 11:59 PM ET.

The KAC Board of Directors is seeking passionate, community-minded individuals interested in joining the KAC Board. These are flexible volunteer roles with two-year terms, renewable for a maximum total of six consecutive years. KAC’s Board plays an important role in supporting our mission and vision, offering oversight and strategic direction, and guiding the organization as it grows. Together, we care for KAC’s stability and ensure it continues to serve artists and arts organizations in meaningful ways.

RETROGRADE 2025 closes on Friday! Come see six new collections alongside excerpts from The Modern Filipino, by Bayani Catapang’s before it’s too late.

Each set carries forward a story: the rice fields of Luzon, the soaring Philippine Eagle, the resilience of women in his family, and the enduring spirits of folklore. The accompanying poetry excerpts deepens these themes, bridging visual and literary expression.

RETROGRADE 2025 is both a tribute to the past and a bold step toward the future, defined by authenticity, imagination, and soul.

It’s been over a year. It’s time…to drag the late 19th century into the 21st!

Agnes launches PfAB2: The Fall Victorian Line 1880 - 2025. Join us for another Historical Costume Ball Drag Show Fashion Pageant Spectacular.

Victorian garb from the Dress Collection at Agnes are re-imagined by local drag artists Dare de LaFemme, Tyffanie Morgan and Rowena Whey, and performed for the first time on the runway. Music by DJ TigerStylez and dresses by Jessica Dykins.

This event also marks the launch of a whole new line of PfAB content on Digital Agnes: downloadable historical dress patterns, behind-the-scenes videos and resources to learn about all things fancy dress!
