SUPPORT THE KAC

Help Strengthen Katarokwi/Kingston’s
Arts Sector in 2026

Across Canada, artists, arts organizations, and cultural spaces are facing shrinking budgets and increasing uncertainty. And yet, here in Katarokwi/Kingston, the need for creativity, connection, and cultural life has never been greater.

The role of the Kingston Arts Council is simple, but essential: We provide strategic leadership and services for the arts –as a funder, leader, advocate , resource, and facilitator of opportunities in Katarokwi/Kingston and the surrounding area.

Your year-end gift helps us:

  • Champion the arts at the municipal, provincial, and federal levels to amplify the voices of artists and advocate for increased support and funding.

  • Grow networks of support and community through membership, professional development, and industry resources.

  • Support artists and organizations through professional development opportunities and resources.

  • Create opportunities for visibility and engagement, from the Pocket Gallery to our Artist Membership program.

  • Continue to increase our capacity to aid in the expansion and sustainability of our key programs and mandates.

  • Maintain a centralized hub where artists can find guidance, advocacy, and trusted leadership.

When you support the Kingston Arts Council, you’re not just supporting one organization, you’re empowering an arts sector that drives innovation, fuels the local economy, and enriches the lives of everyone in Katarokwi/Kingston.

We know that this past year has been challenging. We also know that a city without a thriving arts sector feels quieter, less connected, and ultimately, less alive. But together, we can build momentum heading into 2026, momentum toward a stronger, more sustainable, more empowered arts sector!

If you believe in a creative Katarokwi/Kingston, we hope you’ll consider a year-end gift. Your donation, whether one-time, monthly, or annually, no matter the size, helps us to sustain the sector we all care so deeply about.

Thank you for supporting Kingston’s artists, storytellers, and cultural leaders. Your generosity fuels what comes next.

KAC NEWS & UPDATES

The holidays are a time of friends, joy, and reflection. As the curtain begins to fall on 2025, all of us here at the KAC want to express our heartfelt gratitude for all of the support that we received this part year. We adore this city and all of the incredible artists that make it such a wonderful place to live and create.

The colder months are a powerful opportunity to come together as a community for collaboration and creativity. This year Katarokwi/Kingston saw touching stories brought to life, the visual landscape grow more colourful, and artists elevating their craft to new heights. Despite the hardships many of us are facing or preparing for in the future, one thing remains true, that the resiliency of artists in this city runs deep and we always find a way to come together and inspire joy.

As we get ready for 2026, the KAC remains committed to supporting an arts sector that works for everybody in Katarokwi/Kingston. Your support, whether as a donor, artist, or friend, fuels our work and helps us ensure that the arts remain an integral part of the local economy.

From our family to yours, we wish you a joyful winter, filled with harmony, creativity, and holiday magic. See you next year!

Warmest wishes,
The KAC Team

POCKET GALLERY

Currently on Exhibit: Listening Homes by Sumera Khan

Date: 8 December 2025 - 9 January 2026
Location: Kingston Arts Council — Unit 115, 370 King St W, Kingston

In Listening Homes, artist Sumera Khan turns her attention to the quiet interiors that shape our emotional lives. Through a series of intimate oil paintings Khan explores the emotional and psychological weight carried by domestic spaces.

Textured surfaces, layered light, and familiar everyday details, the work captures personal histories and traces of lived experience within the quiet corners of home.

Through painting, sound, and shared reflection, Listening Homes invites viewers to consider how the spaces we live in both hold and shape our emotional landscapes.
